A cosy little cottage and in the early 1800's the pub for Malpas. The upstairs consists of one double bedroom, a twin bedroom, a bathroom with bath and toilet and a separate toilet. Downstairs are the single bedroom, the living cum diningroom and the pine kitchen with fridge freezer. The enclosed south-facing garden at the front gives great views across the river to the heronry opposite (with one resident albino heron) and a path runs down to the water’s edge.

The cottage is equipped with colour TV and Video/DVD, washing machine and rotary clothes line, iron and ironing board, garden furniture and portable BBQ. All rooms apart from the bathroom and toilet have river views and either night storage or thermostatically controlled heaters.

This delightfully situated cottage in an idyllic hamlet offers peace and tranquility in the very centre of Cornwall. Malpas also has its own public house, the Heron Inn. Here you will find good food and great local, national and international beers and ales.

The Nature Conservancy Council have made this part of the estuary “a site of special interest”. At low tide fishermen can dig for bait and the ornithologist may quietly watch some 65 species of beautiful birds exploring the river banks. The heronry opposite will give hours of enjoyment whether you are inside the cottage or outside, having a drink and perhaps a barbeque while enjoying the panoramic views.

Whether you want an active holiday or just a few days in the sun, the area is ideal. It is a walkers’ paradise. The sheltered waters provide a good base for the sailing enthusiast, and the river offers bass, mackerel, whiting and pollack to provide sport for the fisherman. There are scenic river trips from Malpas down to St. Mawes and Falmouth. Tennis courts, swimming pool, golf and driving range are close by. With Truro, a cathedral city, only three miles away, you are able to enjoy excellent shopping and restaurant facilities as well as evening entertainment.

Within easy motoring distance from your cottage you will find many sheltered sandy coves on the south coast, the picturesque Roseland and beautiful wooded Helford River, famous tropical gardens and heritage properties.

Riverside is ideal for fishermen, bird watchers, ramblers, yachtsmen and families alike.

Cot and highchair are available free of charge.

Bedding and a weekly clean linen change are provided, but please bring your own towels, tea towels and baby linen.
