This beautiful granite grade 2 listed Georgian Manor House in gardens with richly coloured azaleas, camellias, rhododendrons and roses was built by my family in 1827. In a sunny, peaceful setting overlooking the Fowey River and surrounded by fields and parklands with mature trees you will enjoy much more than just your cottage.
From many parts of the gardens you can look down to our private river bank on which you may fish or take a quiet walk. We have an 18 hole pitch and putt course in the cider orchard beside the mill pool, and a games room with table tennis, darts and swing ball. The grass tennis court has a children's play area within sight, with swings and seesaw. Tennis rackets, dinghy and fishing rods may be hired.
Lanwithan offers a unique haven from which to explore exotic gardens or save sandy coves, breathtaking cliff tops or picturesque fishing villages. Is your holiday long enough? We also have extreme surfing, the national cycle network, scenic circular walks, challenging golf courses, horse riding stables, our medieval castle and the Tudor bridge on your doorstep. We are only 10 minutes' drive from the EDEN Project with its giant botanical biomes, a global first.
We offer accommodation with character which is inspected annually by the English Tourism Council and has been rated as 2 to 4 stars:

Thatched until sixty years ago, this cottage still has the original lead latticed windows and three foot cob walls. Its name probably comes from its resemblance to a Scottish crofter's cottage. The attractive little lodge at one entrance to our farm estate consists of a lovely lounge with inglenook fireplace, cloam-oven and log burner, a fitted pine kitchen with dining area and a bathroom with electric, above-bath shower.
